My research involves experimental observations and modeling of reactive transport in rivers, as well as modeling of hydrologic variability at the watershed scale. Before joining Boise State, I was a Fulbright Junior Scholar at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (Barcelona, Spain), where I developed theory of reactive transport in rivers. I was also a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Notre Dame, where I worked on projects ranging from field experiments in streams to theoretical modeling of climate change and conflict.
I received my B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University and my doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from Northwestern University. Before graduate school, I worked as a process control engineer at Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, IN) and served in the Peace Corps (Guinea, Costa Rica). In my spare time, I enjoy reading, biking, and exploring the outdoors in Idaho. |
